My All-time Favorite Salad Dressing!

Growing up the New Year's Baby always left us a present in our shoe that we left out by the door.  I know not many people celebrate this way, but it was always so fun to see what he had left for us.  And then as I got older, I started to question how a baby carried presents, and how he got around to houses...why can't we just  always have the faith of a child!  Anyway, the New Year's Baby has started visiting our house, and this year he brought me a recipe book with "secret" restaurant recipes!  Very exciting! The first thing I tried out was my all-time favorite salad dressing - the Olive Garden salad dressing!  Mmmm....doesn't the salad and bread sticks from there sound so good!  (The recipe for the bread sticks is in the book too...I'll let you know how they are when I try them out!)

It was so easy to make..just throw all of the ingredients in a blender.
Blend for 30 seconds on low and this is what you get...

It doesn't look so great...but trust me - it is!!  I made it a little late in the day and it didn't have quite enough time to refrigerate so it was a little runny, but it will be great tomorrow- I just know it!

So here's the recipe,

Olive Garden Salad Dressing
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons beaten egg
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup light corn syrup
3 tablespoons grated Romano cheese
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon parsley flakes
Pinch of dried oregano
Pinch of red pepper flakes

*Mix everything in the blender for 30 seconds on low
*Chill in the refrigerator for 90 minutes
*Put that goodness on your salad...or dip those bread sticks in it!

Here it is on the right on my salad (the stuff on the left may be coming soon)

Enjoy!

Kristin
